If you are shopping for a graphics card, the single most useful number is not the frame rate in a review. It is how much performance you get for what you spend.
That is the whole idea behind this site. We pull every graphics card listing on eBay, divide its PassMark G3D Mark score by its asking price, and rank what comes back. A higher score means more performance per unit of currency. It is deliberately simple, and it is unweighted: no adjustment for ray tracing, VRAM, power draw or seller rating. Two listings of the same card differ only by price.
Every table below is live and shows your own market. Use the market switcher at the top of the page to change it. Benchmark scores are the same everywhere; prices are not, so the prices you see are the ones you can actually pay.
The case for buying used, in one line
A used RTX 3070 scores 22,196 on G3D Mark. A new RTX 5060 scores 20,640. The used card is faster, and it is also cheaper in every market we track.

Read that as: for the same money, the used card returns roughly twice the performance at the entry and mid tiers. The multiples differ by market because prices do, but the direction never changes.
Budget: GeForce GTX 1080
For 1080p, and for competitive titles at high refresh rates. G3D Mark 15,588. Usually the highest Value Score on the board.
The GTX 1080 refuses to die. It is a 2016 card that still clears 60 FPS at 1080p in most things, and in Valorant, CS2 or League of Legends it is frankly overkill. It has 8GB of VRAM, which in 2026 is the floor rather than the ceiling, but finding 8GB of VRAM this cheap at all is the point.
What you give up: no DLSS, and no meaningful ray tracing. FSR is widely implemented now and covers most of the upscaling gap, so this matters less than it did two years ago.
One honest note. The GTX 1070 Ti sometimes edges ahead on value, and in the UK the two are currently within a tenth of a point of each other. In the US the GTX 1080 wins comfortably. We point at the 1080 because it is the faster card, the gap in price is small, and there are usually several times as many listings, so you can actually buy one. If your market shows a 1070 Ti meaningfully cheaper, take it.

Mid-range: GeForce RTX 3070

This is the pick if you only read one section. The RTX 3070 is the best balance of price, speed and availability on the used market, with over a hundred listings in both the UK and the US at any given time, and it prices almost identically in the two.
It gives you DLSS, which is the single most valuable feature you can buy into at this price, and Ampere-generation ray tracing that is genuinely usable if you are sensible with settings. Its 8GB of VRAM is the one real limitation: fine at 1440p today, and the reason to consider the 3080 below if you plan to keep the card for years.
The RTX 3060 Ti at 20,327 G3D is the obvious alternative. It usually lands within a few percent of the 3070 on price while being meaningfully slower, so we would pay the difference.

The card people queued outside shops for in 2020 is now a mid-budget purchase. In raw rasterisation it still embarrasses current-generation cards costing considerably more, and there are well over a hundred listings in both markets.
The elephant in the room is 10GB of VRAM. At 4K with ultra textures in badly optimised games, that is not enough. Drop textures to high, which is close to indistinguishable in motion, and it is a 4K 60 FPS card.
Note that its Value Score is the lowest of the three picks. That is expected and it is not a mark against it: you are paying for absolute performance, and value always falls as you climb the stack. Buy this because you want the frames, not because it is the smartest purchase per unit spent. That title belongs to the GTX 1080.

How do you calculate the Value Score?
We take the card's PassMark G3D Mark score and divide it by the listing's asking price. Higher is better. We deliberately exclude postage, because postage varies by seller and by where you live, and including it would make scores incomparable between two people looking at the same listing. The delivered price is shown alongside every listing so you can see the full cost before you buy.
Scores are calculated in the local currency, so a UK score is points per pound and a US score is points per dollar. Compare cards within a market, not across them.
Is it safe to buy a used GPU on eBay?
Generally yes. eBay's buyer protection covers items that arrive faulty or not as described. Buy from sellers with a long positive history, read the description properly, and look closely at the photos. Be wary of anything priced far below the going rate for that model, which is usually a parts-only board, an accessory, or a scam.
Is 8GB of VRAM still enough?
At 1080p, yes. At 1440p it is now the entry level, and you will meet stutter in newer titles if you insist on ultra texture packs. If you are buying to keep the card for several years at 1440p or above, 10GB or more is the safer floor.
Does the RTX 3070 support DLSS 3 frame generation?
No. Ampere cards support DLSS Super Resolution, the upscaling part, but frame generation is limited to RTX 40-series and newer. Upscaling accounts for most of the performance gain, so this is much less of a loss than the version number suggests.
What power supply does a used RTX 3080 need?
The RTX 3080 draws sharp transient spikes. Use a good quality 750W or 850W unit rated Gold or better. A budget 600W supply will cause random shutdowns under load.
